Zero Waste from Coast to Coast
We're all aware of the global plastic pollution crisis, but how does Canada measure up? Ashley will provide some general background on Canada's own challenges with plastic, and why we need to ditch our linear, make-use-dispose economy in favour of a more circular approach.
Waste is an issue where all levels of government have responsibilities, but for this meeting Ashley will focus on what the federal government should be doing to ensure harmonization and zero-waste from coast-to-coast-to-coast.
Ashley is the Plastics Program Manager with Environmental Defence Canada. She holds a masters degree in Environment and Sustainability and a Bachelor of Science both from Western University.
Environmental Defence is a leading Canadian advocacy organization that works with the government, industry and individuals to defend clean water, a safe climate and healthy communities.
