2023 FY SWITCH Annual General Meeting

  • All paid-up SWITCH Members are eligible to vote. Everybody is welcome to attend, but we are asking Members to register for the AGM in order to track quorum requirements

Please attend the 2024 SWITCH Annual General Meeting to close out the 2023 fiscal year and elect new board members. It will be held online and begins at 8:00am Friday, May 3, 2024. Information for joining the meeting by Teams is below.

The AGM provides SWITCH members with the opportunity to vote on new board members and by-law changes. There will also be reports from the SWITCH Executive and a presentation of the 2023 financial statements.

Election of Board of Directors:

 According to the SWITCH by-laws, the SWITCH Board of Directors must consist of eight members with "at least two, but not more than four directors" elected under each of the following categories: 
  • Education/Research
  • Government/Utility
  • Private Business/Resident
And one director elected under the category of:
  • Student
Five new Director positions were available.  Four three-year Director positions were available, with four nomination applications being received.  As such the following new or returning Board members have been acclaimed.

Tom Lavrisa - Private Business/Resident

David Hyndman - Private Business/Resident

Kiari Boulama - Education/Research

Paul MacLatchy - Government/Utility

Two applications for the one-year Student position were received.  As such there will be an election for this position.

Yanxi Lin, Queen’s University

Rit Nanda, Queen’s University
